Good morning and thanks for stopping in to visit my blog while I'm out of town at the inspire.create.share 2014 Stampin' Up! Convention. I not only have one, but two projects to share with you today. The design team that I am a designer for, Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration, was selected to design a display board for convention this year. Stampin' Up!, has put a contest in place. A number of design teams have been selected to design boards in the display room. A winning display board will be selected, but in my eyes, we are ALL WINNERS! We all get to have our creative artwork on the boards for all to see and enjoy! I have had so much fun in creating my 4 cards and 3-D item. Each of us who wanted to participate, chose one stamp set to work with a create our projects around. I decided to go with "Flower Patch". Here are the first two cards I am sharing. Don't forget to stop by tomorrow to see the next two cards and my 3-D project. When you are done viewing my post, don't forget to click over to our main blog and see some of the other display projects from our design team members!
I would say that this is one of my favorites, but well they all are my favorite, so I'll save my words!! This card has a night of navy card base white a white layer that I embossed with the large dots folder. (now this is one of my favorite new folders!!) I used the Flowerpot DSP pack for the large and mini banners across the bottom. I stamped my flowers in lost lagoon, hello honey and tangelo twist. I added some coordinating candy dots to the center of each and added some natural twine behind them.
For this card, I used the new Typeset DSP. This truly is one of my favorite display cards. I love how its all black and vanilla. My base is black with a layers of vanilla and a layer of DSP. I also added a set of layers in black and the horizontal stripes from the same DSP pack. If you look closely, I used my handy dandy sewing machine and sewed around the edges of these two layers. Flowers were stamped in basic black in layers with a solid cut out matching flower behind it. I added pearls to the center of each flower. Can't forget the bling!! My favorite element, is the lace that goes across the bottom. I added a couple black candy dots in the upper left corner and my card is done.
