Stylin' Stampin' Squad October Blog Hop- All Things Fall

Stylin' Stampin' Squad Blog Hop - All Things Fall

Thank you so much for joining us for the October Stylin' Stampin' Squad Blog Hop!  This month we are focusing on the Fall season.  It's the time of year when fireplaces start crackling with warmth and we dig out our sweaters.  This month's blog hop will showcase many of the Stampin' Up! products that are available to make Autumn themed creations.  We hope you enjoy seeing how we use the products to create our projects and feel inspired to come up with some great projects of your own.

You should have just left stop number 5 Jennifer Campbell on the Stylin' Stampin' Squad blog hop.  If so you are in the right spot.  If a link doesn't work or you get off track, you will find the full blog hop lineup below.

One of my favorite Fall/Autumn products is the Autumn Acccents (leaves) Bigz Die.  These leaves can be left plain or when used with an embossing folder, Wa La!!  they turn into something totally different.
Autumn Accents Bigz Die
I am so super excited to be joining the Stylin' Stampin' Squad Blog Hop and being able to share my first set of projects with you!  What a great group of talented stampers we have in our group!  With sticking to our  theme of "All Things Fall", I wanted to share my idea for Thanksgiving Day.  Since our dinner is small and just our immediate family members, I plan to create this card and cute take out box for each person. I will feel the box of course with a simple chocolate candy and inside each card I plan to write, rather "mushy" or "funny", why I am thankful for that person. I want my family to know that they are thought of and why they are special to me!

I made a simple template to make my own take out box and added the Natural Trim ribbon to the wired handle.  I know when most people think of fall, they think of oranges, browns and yellow/reds, but I love to use non traditional colors.  I wanted to use deeper/richer toned colors, so I went with midnight muse, summer starfruit and rich razzleberry for my leaves.
Since I wanted to card to match my box, I used the same group of leaves but added a banner using the Burlap ribbon.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  crumb cake, midnight muse, rich razzleberry and summer starfruit
Stamp set:  Truely Grateful
Ribbon:  burlap ribbon, natural trim ribbon, natural twine
Misc.: naturals designer buttons, banner framelits, woodgrain, houndstooth and square lattice embossing folders, autumn accents (leaves) die
Ink:  Early Espresso

I hope you have enjoyed my projects for our Fall Hop, don't forget to leave a comment and head over to our next stop, Jamie Hurley!

Swallowtail Joseph's Coat Technique

Hi bloggers! Its me, here with another creation for this months color challenge over at Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration, head on over and check out the details and join in the fun!!

Most would think Halloween when you see those colors, but I came across this cool technique called "Joseph's Coat" and wanted to try it with these colors.  I also knew I wanted to use the Swallowtail Stamp!  Head on over to Frenchiestamps to watch her video.  Its a great way to do a different kind of stamp emboss resist technique.

So this is what I came up with.  Not perfect by no means, but this was my first try.  I had a lot of fun with my creation, leave me a comment and I can't wait to see your take on these colors!!
I even added half of the butterfly to the inside for an added touch.

Card Supplies:
stamp sets:  swallowtail, label love
punch:  artisan label
ink colors:  tangerine tango, early espresso and elegant eggplant
cardstock:  early espresso, whisper white, elegant eggplant, tangerine tango
misc.:  fancy fan folder, white taffeta ribbon
