Best Mother Ever CYCI#62

Good morning!  Its Sunday and its the BIG day....I am up at this very moment getting ready to run my half marathon in Va. Beach for Shamrock!  Its also time for a new challenge at Can You Case It?  Come get inspired by our designers and come play along.

I am working on Mother's day cards so I have plenty to take to my sisters hair shop where she sales my cards for me.  This is a quick and easy one, but beautiful at the same time.

I love the butterfly basics stamp set and framelits we have.  They make any card lovely.  I stamped and cut one out in daffodil delight, matching my cardstock base and then cut one out in black and cut it in half the fit behind it, adding a simple layer.  I love the detail of the gold bakers twine and candy dots too.

Supplies Used
Cardstock ~ whisper white, basic black and daffodil delight
Stamp set ~ butterfly basics, and many more

Lucky You CYCI#61

Good morning!  Today is Sunday and a busy one it will be.  I got up early to go run early with some friends as we start tapering down our miles for the Virginia Beach Shamrock Half Marathon next week.  I am so excited yet nervous too.  I have ran other halves but this one I am really trying to set a better PR for myself and with this race in mind, our challenge at Can You Case It? this week for St. Patrick's Day (shamrocks) came at a perfect time)  Come get inspired with our designers and play along with our Clean and Quick, St. Patrick's Day Edition challenge.

This really is a card that you can create in 10 min. or under.  I started with a base of old olive (my favorite green) and cut a layer that measures 5"x3-3/4" and just added some torn strips of washi tape in random places.  I cut our three white hears and created this cute clover and used my stamp n' write marker to add some stiches.  I popped on an old olive green button to the center and scattered some gold sequins around.

Lets Cas(e) It Color Challenge CYCI#60

Good Sunday morning!  Hope everyone has had a wonderful weekend so far.  Today I am over at CYCI? and we are ready for an all new color challenge.  So go grab those colors and get creative!
As a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, you get to received the Stampin' Connection magazine that's full of ideas.  This was a card displayed in our March/April edition and I just loved the layout, so I thought I would Cas(e) it.

I just thought the little single banner coming across the front was just to cute.  I started with just a simple base of soft sky and stamped on some splatter using the grunge stamp set.  Next I cut a vanilla layer and rounded only two corners for my bird image, which I colored in wild wasabi and soft sky blendabilities.  To finish it off, I added a couple in color sequins off the side for a little added bling!

Irresistibly Yours #CYCI59

Good Sunday morning!  Thanks for stopping by.  Today I am over at Can You Case It? and we have a fun sketch challenge for you this week.  I hope you get inspired by my challenge card and you will come join us!

Above is our sketch and below is what I created with it.

I am in love with the butterfly basics stamp set and matching framelit set.  I also love the irresistibly yours embossed DSP pack.  Its one of the items you can select for FREE when you place a min. $50 order now thru March 31, 2015.  I love it, cause its already while embossed and ready for ink.  No versa mark, no messy powders or heat guns.  Just use your sponge or finger dauber, smear on the ink and use a napkin to wipe off the extra and its done.  I wanted to keep my colors simple so I just went with crumb cake as my base layer and hello honey as my second layer.  The lace trim is my favorite as I just used my hello honey ink and finger dauber to rub on the ink.  It turned out so nice.

I hope you have enjoyed my challenge card for this weeks sketch challenge.  I hope you get inspired and you decide to get crafty with us over at CYCI?

The little coffee cup comes from a monthly Simon Says kit I got a few months ago.  It included a cute little coffee themed stamp set and a metal die that cuts out this coffee cup.  The pink/yellow dsp I used also came from this kit.  I added some strawberry slush twine for a little girly look!

Coffee Warms My Heart #CYCI54

Good morning, hope everyone has been enjoying their weekend so far!  I have. Spent yesterday running errands and stocking the house with groceries for my departure next Wednesday.  Where am I going, you ask?  Well, let me tell you, I am headed out to the air port all bright and early to fly myself away to Florida for Stampin' Up! Leadership training and to have fun, fun, fun with my friend Breelin.  We are going to have an awesome time!  Now back to today, today I am sharing my project for the Designers Choice Challenge at Can You Case It?  So put your thinking caps on, grab a sketch, color combo, its your choice.  Create that fun project of any kind and link it up to our challenge!

I was scanning thru Pinterest the other day and came across this lovely card created by:  Wanda Guess and just loved the theme (COFFEE) and the sketch.  I put my thinking cup on (that means, I fixed myself a cup of coffee!) and went to town to CAS(E) her card.  Here is her card.....
Paper Smooches challenge card by Wanda Guess

and here is my CAS(E)D version....

I do love my Stampin' Up! supplies but sometimes I do like to pull out some of my other toys and mix them up together!  One of my favorite contraband stamp sets is the Perk Up coffee themed stamp set by My Favorite Things.  It has a lot of different coffee related sentiments and it works perfect with any kind of coffee cup/mug stamp set or die cuts.  I replaced her circle shapes with hearts and turned my card to be horizontal.  I just love the added bling of the sequins along the sides.

Supplies Used
Cardstock ~ whisper white, coastal cabana, sahara sand, crushed curry, calypso coral
Ink ~ soft suede, crisp cantaloupe

Clean and Quick with CYCI#53

Good morning.  Hope everyone has been enjoying their weekend so far.  Hard to believe its Sunday already.  Make the most of it and go do something fun!  (NO cleaning, that's not fun!)  Today as you can tell, I'm paying around over at Can You Case It?  This weeks challenge is to create something "Clean and Quick".  Now normally this is hard for me, cause I love my layers and embellishment, but I'll have to say, its getting easier and easier.

Again, I am using the Butterfly Basics stamp set and butterfly framelit bundle.  I told you I am in love with this set.  Its so easy and fun to play around with.  You can't go wrong not matter what you do.  I started with very vanilla card base and added a layer using stampin demensionals to raise it up.  First of course, I stamped  the (what I call the honeycomb patterned) stamp three times close together in strawberry slush.  Then I stamped the butterfly (love the lacey pattern to it!) in blackberry bliss and cut it out using the matching framelit (NO fussy cutting at all!)  I also added a SS button to the center of the butterfly with some cut and shredded ribbon.  The happy birthday sentiment is stamped in smoky slate and I'm done.  Now you can't tell me that's not quick and easy?!

Well if you are like me and you have boys instead of girls in the house, you know that the traditional colors or pinks and reds just don't cut it when it comes to creating Valentine's Day cards.  So when I saw the colors for me to work with, I got all excited.  Not like I'm drinking a cup of coffee excited, but pretty darn close!!!  Now this is a V-day card that could be given to any man/boy.

Sheltering Tree Sneak Peek CYCI#51 Sketch Challenge

Good morning, today I am over at Can You Case It? and we are starting our first sketch challenge for the new year!  Its amazing how fast 2014 went by.  Hard to believe its already 2015, but I'm excited for this new year!  I hope you will join us with our challenge and I can't wait to see what you create with it.

With the new year, brings an all new Stampin' Up! Spring Mini Catalog and boy does it have a lot of exciting new stamp sets, big shot items and lots and lots of new ribbons and accessories that I can't wait to share with you.  Most of you have probably already received your copy in the mail and are already marking it for the big release day of January 6th, when it goes live!!! But just in case you haven't here is a sneak peek of the cover...

Today I am sharing one of my favorite stamp sets from the new catalog, called Sheltering Tree.  You can stamp and decorate this tree for all 4 seasons.  I just love all the little added items it comes with to decorate and accessorize the tree.

I turned my card into a shaker card.  I also stamped the tree covering in white craft ink, heat embossed it with white powder to make it look like snow covering the tree. I added some sequins inside for the shaper part.  Three pearls top the large silver sequins to finish off the sketch.

Supplies Used
Cardstock ~ lost lagoon, whisper white
Ink ~ white craft ink, lost lagoon, baked brown sugar
Stamp set ~ Sheltering tree
DSP ~ all is calm
Misc. ~ all is calm sequin trims, basic pearls, all is calm washi tape, white embossing powder, clear window sheet

Sparkle and Shine ~ CYCI#50 and PCCCS#123

Good morning!  Thanks for joining me here this fine Sunday morning!  Today I am over at Can You Case It? and its our "Holiday Edition".  This challenge will run for two weeks, so you have plenty of time to join us in the holiday fun!

I also created this card based on the fun sketch challenge over at Paper Craft Crew Challenge blog.  The two worked perfectly together for the stamp set that I wanted to use.

Festival of Trees has by far, been one of the holiday stamp sets that I have used most.  Its so fun and festive and easy to use.  I used the solid triangle tree to stamp in the lost lagoon and pear pizzazz upside down.  I then stamped the dotted tree in smoky slate and added crushed curry dots and topped with dazzling details for some added texture.  I added a few scattered silver sequins to finish it off along with the button and banner sentiment.
