Favorite Retiring Stamp Set!

Good Friday morning!  There is two words I love to hear:  1)  the word Friday and 2) the word Coffee, and when the two happen on the same day, well... I'm a happy girl!  Today I am over at Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration and we are sharing a favorite retiring stamp set or item from Stampin' Up!  Don't wait to much longer to get your hands on any of these items, cause everything will be gone come June 3rd!!

Perfect Blend is one of my favorite stamp sets and will remain on my stampin' shelves.   Its so cute for a simple stamping or to stamp and layer with DSP which I have done on my above card.  I used the bottom of a coffee cup to stamp the rings on my background layer as well as the ink splatter from the gorgeous grunge stamp set in one of the new 2015 in colors...tip top taupe!

Supplies Used
Cardstock ~ very vanilla, tip top taupe
Ink ~ Bermuda bay, tip top taupe
Stamp sets ~ gorgeous grunge, perfect blend
Misc. ~ coffee cup, Bermuda bay sequins, circle framelit set

I hope you have enjoyed my card, leave some love and head on over to the main blog site of SSINK and see what the other designers created using their favorite retiring item.

Locus Blossom Color Challenge #SSINKCC17

Good Monday morning!  Thanks for stopping by.  Today I am over at Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration and its time for our first color challenge for 2015, how exciting!  Come on over, get the details and join us in our challenge.

With todays card I am showcasing one of the new stamp sets you can earn for FREE from the 2015 Sale-A-Bration catalog that starts tomorrow!  You can earn it FREE with a $50 order from any current catalog.  Its one of my favorite sets I believe.  Its a three step stamping set.  Even by using the same color, it layers perfectly to look like you've used several different shades.

I finished off my card with a tied bow in night of navy seam binding ribbon.

Supplies Used
Cardstock ~ whisper white, night of navy, soft sky
Ink ~ night of navy, soft sky, island indigo, baked brown sugar
Stamp sets ~ lotus blossom and gorgeous grunge
Misc. ~ night of navy seam binding ribbon

Leave some "love" and don't forget to head over to our main blog site and see what the other design team members have created.  I hope to have INKspired you to come join in our color challenge!

Never to Many Thanks - Clean and Quick #CYCI49

Good morning, I hope everyone has been enjoying their weekend so far.  Its been busy, but I have.  Today I am over at Can You Case It?, and this week our challenge for you is to create and Clean and Quick card using a button or other embellishment with a max of 2 layers.  I hope you decide to play along, I can't wait to see what you create!

You can never have to many "Thank You" cards on hand so for the next few cards you will be seeing on my blog will be "thank you" cards.  I cut a 1"x5-1/2" piece of DSP from the flower pot collection to add a little pattern down the side of my whisper white layer.  I used the splatter spots from the gorgeous grunge stamp set in crushed curry and garden green ink.  Now the night of navy "thanks" you see is a new sneak peek item!  Oh YES, there is a new word thinlit set coming in the new Stampin' Up! Spring Occasions Catalog.  Now I did a little something extra with this card.....something I don't normally do...I cut out an envelope insert in matching DSP!  Crazy right?!  I can't stand the thought of someone throwing away the DSP, so its why I don't normally do it, but I'll have to be honest and say, I LOVE it!  It really makes it look lovely.

To finish off my card and keeping with the challenge, I pulled out a button and tied it off with some tangerine tango bakers twine.

Supplies Used
Cardstock ~ night of navy, whisper white
DSP ~ flower pot
Ink ~ garden green, crushed curry
Stamp set ~ lots of thanks
Misc. ~ tangerine tango bakers twine, brights buttons, regal candy dots, hello you thinlits (new sneak peak item!), envelope insert framelits

I hope you have enjoyed my challenge card.  Leave some "love" and go check out the other challenge cards from our other design team members.

A Birthday Star at #FabFri53

Good morning!  Thanks for stopping by and visiting me here at Ink a Doodle Creations.  Today is a special day here in the Richards household.  Today is my oldest sons #15th Birthday!!!  Man oh man, where has the time gone.  It seems just like yesterday I was sending him off the kindergarten for the first time, now I'm sending him off to the 9th grade in High School.  Its just crazy!

Todays card is for the sketch challenge over at Fab Friday.  It was perfect for what I had in mind for his Birthday card.  On a fun note, you wouldn't think a kid, and a boy at that would care about getting a handmade card, but he keeps everyone I make him for any occasion.  Kinda makes me smile:)

Supplies Used
Cardstock ~ basic gray, whisper white, Bermuda bay, crushed curry
Ink ~ basic gray, tangelo twist, Bermuda bay
Stamp sets ~ be the star, endless birthday wishes photopolymer set, gorgeous grunge
Misc. ~ star framelit set, bright and regal candy dots, clear window sheets

Not Just For Embossing!!

Good morning and thanks for stopping by.  Today over at Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration, its Technique Tuesday and we are using our embossing folders to stamp with instead of emboss with.  I love that you can use items for many other purposes other than what they were intended for.  Makes me feel like I got a 2 for one sale!!!

I started with a base color of crisp cantaloupe then a layer of very vanilla.  I embossed that layer with the fancy fan embossing folder.  Then I used my scalloped tag punch and punched me out a tag that was 2" x 4".  I took my fancy fan folder, and on the raised side, used my crisp cantaloupe marker and colored on it.  I then took my spritzer with a little water in it, sprayed on the ink lightly with one spray.  I then layered my tag down on it and gave a light tap or two to transfer it over.  When you lift it up, you have a water colored stamp look.  After I allowed it to dry for a few minutes I used the Serene Silhouette stamp set and in blackberry bliss, stamped the flower image.

On the inside, I used the opposite side of the folder and inked it with my ink pad and stamped in the corners.  I also used the splattered dots from Gorgeous Grunge to stamp the front of card and inside.

Triangle Fun with PPA203 & MOJO345

Good morning and thanks for stopping by.  I have been a busy little happy stamper the past few days.  Not only did I have a lot of uninterrupted time in my craft room on Mother's Day to play with my paper and ink, but I also had some free time on Monday to create too!  Today's card is for the color challenge over at Pals Paper Arts and the sketch is for Mojo Monday.

I already in full force for getting a jump start on Father's Day cards.  I know my sisters will be hitting me up shortly to see what I have made up and I want to be prepared!  The sketch called for 4 layered circles but I swapped them out for 4 layered triangles.  I cut out the triangles on my own and embossed them with the arrow folder.  The colors of night of navy and cajun craze worked perfect for a masculine looking father's day card don't you think?  I then stamped and punched out 4 small triangles using the geometrical stamp set.  I also for fun added a candy dot in matching color to each small triangle.  I used the gorgeous grunge  stamp set to add a background behind the large embossed triangles.  For the left side of the card, I used the gold bakers twine to tie around.

Supplies Used
Cardstock ~ very vanilla, night of navy and cajun craze
Ink ~ cajun craze, night of navy

Misc. ~ triangle punch, gold bakers twine, regal candy dots, arrow embossing folder

I hope you have enjoyed my take on the color and sketch challenge.  Don't forget to leave some "love", as I always enjoy reading your comments on what I create!

Serene Silhouettes at HSS183

Good morning and thanks for stopping by.  The sun is once again shinning bright and its put me in the mood to get crafty and join in the fun with a challenge.  Today's card is for the color challenge over at Hand Stamped Sentiments.  What a fun set of colors too!

I've been looking thru my stamp sets and trying to pull out those that either I haven't used yet or not very much.  I can't believe either option is possible, but I do have a lot of sets.  I'm just gonna leave it to your imagination as to which one this set falls under - cause I'm not gonna tell!?!  As I was looking, I came across Serene Silhouettes.  Its such a pretty set too.  I did keep the card pretty simple cause I really wanted the stamped images to be the main focal point.  I also added a little gorgeous grunge for a background affect.  Goodness me, I hope that set doesn't retire!

I hope you have enjoyed my card for the challenge over at Hand Stamped Sentiments.  You should head on over and play along, but before you do, leave me some "love"!

One Wicked Birthday with #CTS71

Happy Hump Day!  Yep just two more days after today and its the weekend again!  I know, its terrible that we rush our lives so much thru the week to get to the weekend, but well, they shouldn't have made the weekend so darn fun for someone to look so forward to it coming!!!

I have been been a little bit of a slacker with my challenges I like to play around with this week.  I am getting ready for an all day crop at my house on Saturday and I've been making special treats!  I did find a few minutes to play around with the sketch over at Cas(e) This Sketch!  There was no beating around the bush with this sketch.  I knew right away what I wanted to do.  Don't you love it when that happens?!

This is just the perfect masculine card ever!  Bold guy colors and lots of grunge.  I did use some ribbon for the banner ends, but instead of a bow (which is totally girlie) I just tied a knot.  For my stamp layers, I used Off the Grid and Gorgeous Grudge in colors of island indigo, soft sky and pumpkin pie.

And of course we can't forget the inside.  Kept simple, but I carried the same stamp layers to the inside.  Now all it needs is that hand written birthday message!

Supplies Used
Cardstock ~ very vanilla, early espresso, pumpkin pie, island indigo
Ink ~ early espresso, soft sky, pumpkin pie, island indigo
Stamp Sets ~ Off the Grid and Gorgeous Grunge
Misc. ~ early espresso taf. ribbon, banner punch, candy dots, MDS software where I typed and printed my birthday front sentiment

I hope you have enjoyed my wicked birthday card!  Don't forget to leave some "love", I always appreciate and enjoy reading them!
