Merry Christmas from our family and SSINK!

Good morning and Merry Christmas to all my blog followers.  Today is Christmas and we all are busy spending time with our families.  Speaking of family, today over at SSINKspiration we wanted wish you all a Merry Christmas and share with you our own family Christmas cards.

I have had so many Christmas projects on my table that I didn't really want to design and create my own cards.  When I went to Stampin' Up!'s Convention last year, I took a class using the Watercolor Winter imply Created Card Kit.  It was awesome and I knew right then that this was what I was using for my cards this year.  Not only where they fun and easy to create, but it had all the supplies already precut and really ready to go.  Now there was one card that came in the kit that didn't really work for my style so I decided to change it up and create my own to replace it.  Can you guess which one it is?

These are all four card designs.  The kit came with supplies to create 5 cards of each design.

The fun part of this kit was getting to be back in Elementary School and getting to enjoy some water coloring fun again!

So yep, you guessed it....this is the card that I created and switched out!

Supplies Used
Watercolor Winter Simply Created Card Kit
Misc. adhesives such as liquid tombo and glue dots and a pair of scissors

I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas day with their families.  Thank you for letting me share my family Christmas cards with you on this very special day!

Merry Cookie Monday!!!

Good Monday!  The days are getting closer and closer to the BIG day!  Yes, I know its almost time for everyone to place their orders with the all new Stampin' Up! Spring Mini Occasions Catalog, but I'm talking about Christmas Day!  Lets just hope that Santa thinks I've been a good girl this year and brings me some new stamping toys!!

Today at Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration its our Merry Monday post and we are sharing everything Merry!  I want to share the cute little paper gift bags I put together using the Under the Tree Tag a Bag Accessory Kit from Stampin' Up!.

I live in a small neighborhood of just 11 houses and needed something quick and easy to put their cookies inside for a little Christmas treat.  I purchased a pack of #10 exactly Petite Café Gift bags and the accessory kit to create these fun bags.  The kit is perfect cause of course it comes with everything you need to complete the bags as shown in my picture.  You two different styled tags in 5 different colors (I only have 4 shown in the above picture), bakers twine, colored mini clothespins and other tags great for stamping a holiday sentiment on.  I was able to place 8 normal sized baked cookies inside but really it could hold another 2.

Supplies Used

Thanks for stopping by to visit my blog today.  I hope you have enjoyed my paper treat bags.  Don't forget to leave some "love" and head on over for the other designers to INKspire you with their Merry creations!

Sparkle and Shine ~ CYCI#50 and PCCCS#123

Good morning!  Thanks for joining me here this fine Sunday morning!  Today I am over at Can You Case It? and its our "Holiday Edition".  This challenge will run for two weeks, so you have plenty of time to join us in the holiday fun!

I also created this card based on the fun sketch challenge over at Paper Craft Crew Challenge blog.  The two worked perfectly together for the stamp set that I wanted to use.

Festival of Trees has by far, been one of the holiday stamp sets that I have used most.  Its so fun and festive and easy to use.  I used the solid triangle tree to stamp in the lost lagoon and pear pizzazz upside down.  I then stamped the dotted tree in smoky slate and added crushed curry dots and topped with dazzling details for some added texture.  I added a few scattered silver sequins to finish it off along with the button and banner sentiment.

Survivor-Blood-Vs-Water-San-Juan-Del-Sur.jpg

So first off let me start by saying, "I am a Survivor fan" and have been since it first aired on TV. Well this year, I joined in a Stampin Survivor group on Facebook.  Myself and 17 other ladies, were paired up with a cast member on this season of Blood vs. Water.  My paired team member was Alec.  Even though I held in for while, all good things must come to an end!  My Alec got voted out last week and was sent home.  Booooo!!!  So here is the fun part of this group:  when ever a person is voted out, that person is to send out a handmade card to the remaining players.  In my case, I get to enjoy 11 cards from previous voted out players.  The person left in till the end, will have received 17 cards.  So I want to share the card I designed and sent out to the remaining 6 players.

I wanted to use this stamp set in a non traditional way.  Instead of using dark green, I went with a light shade and used pear pizzazz, I also chose crisp cantaloupe for the berries instead of traditional red.  One of the fun things I did with the black/white typeset DSP, is I used my sponge and discolored it with crumb cake ink.  The layout and detail are pretty simple and I wanted the focal to be on the wreath and the gold shimmering "Joy"!

Supplies Used
Cardstock ~ pear pizzazz, very vanilla
Ink ~ pear pizzazz, crisp cantaloupe, crumb cake
Stamp set ~ Wondrous Wreath
DSP ~ typeset, gold shimmer paper
Misc. ~ gold sequin trim, crisp cantaloupe twine, wreath framelit set

I hope you have enjoyed my Christmas card.  Don't forget to leave some "love" and head on over to visit Darcy at Stampin' DJ, you are just gonna love her holiday project!

Bright & Beautiful Gift Tag

Thank you for stopping by to visit me here at Ink a Doodle Creations.  Today I am over at Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration and we are sharing gift tags with you.  I mean what's a pretty package without a pretty gift tag to go with it?

I started out making this cute but knew it needed a nice tag to go with it.  I used the angled tag topper punch and cut a piece of cardstock in very vanilla to measure 2" x 4-1/2".  Then I cut another piece in early espresso to measure 2" x 2-1/4".  I angled the two together and attached with some adhesive.  I used the bright and beautiful star stamp set to stamp one in cherry cobbler and cut it as well as a smaller star in gold glitter paper with the matching star framelit set.  The "JOY" letters come from the extra chipboard letters I had left over from the watercolor winter simply created card kit.  Its the kit I used to make my family Christmas cards this year.  It came with a lot of extras, so I put them to good use.  I threaded a piece of cherry cobber seam binding ribbon thru the tag whole and tied the ends together with gold bakers twine.

Supplies Used
Cardstock ~ very vanilla, early espresso, gold glitter paper
Ink ~ cherry cobber, early espresso
Stamp sets ~ bright and beautiful
Misc. ~ gold bakers twine, cherry cobbler seam binding ribbon

"Snow" Globe fun #FM187

Good morning!  Its Saturday and normally at this time I would be enjoying my morning by sleeping in.  Yep, its the first day in five that I don't have to get up at 6:20am, but here I am up, and why you ask?  Well today I am spending the day with some friends are we will be crafting away!

But before I get started, I wanted to share my project card for The Friday Mashup challenge.  Avery certainly has picked a fun mashup for us to play along with.  Its all about "weather" and to mash it up, add in some metal.  I decided to except her challenge and created this cute snow globe card.  For the past couple of weeks the temperature here in Va. has really been dropping.  So if its gonna be this cold, I say go ahead and let it snow....but just a little!  So with that in mind, I created my challenge card around "snow"!  The Mashup team still has an open call out for some new design team members.  I'm opening up my card and blog for review in hopes to earn a spot on this team!  Wish me luck!!

With snow in mind, I thought the perfect colors to play with were colors from the 2013 set of in colors, (coastal cabana, crisp cantaloupe, strawberry slush and pistachio pudding)  The snow globe I thought was perfect to show case snow as well as the "Holiday Home" stamp set and matching framelits.  As I kid, and still today, I love picking up and shaking a snow globe to see the glitter and snow flutter around.

I stamped the three different homes in matching ink with the cardstock and used a snowmaker marker I have along with my heat gun to add snow texture to each roof top and around the windows.  I also created a window pocket and added silver and snowflake sequins along with matching in color sequins to the inside that shake around when you move the card.

For my metal mashup part of the challenge, I tied on with black/white bakers twine an all is calm metal snowflake embellishment.  Perfect to hang down and add that extra shimmer!

Supplies Used
Cardstock ~ very vanilla, crisp cantaloupe, coastal cabana, pistachio pudding, strawberry slush
Ink ~ baked brown sugar, crisp cantaloupe, coastal cabana, pistachio pudding
Stamp set ~ Holiday Home
Misc. ~ black bakers twine, all is calm snowflake embellishment, snowmaker maker, heat gun, homemade holiday framelits, in color sequins, frosted sequins, snow globe dies from Papertrey Ink

Nice, Naughty or Fabulous?

Good mornings and thanks for stopping by.  Today I'm over at Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration and we are sharing some Christmas card inkspiration.  One of the stamp sets from the holiday mini struck me as just crazy, weird and I said over and over again, "I am NOT getting it".  Well as it turns out....I DID and it has been super fun to create with and I'm so glad I did.  I got it all too!  I couldn't just stop at the stamp set, I had to get the matching DSP pack, the washi tape, (gotta have washi tape) and of course the embellishment enamel pack!!

Stocking Gift Card Holder with Merry Monday #132

Todays post is one totally for fun!  I mean not only am I using Stampin' Up! brand supplies, but I am playing around some fun retired products that I still love.  The project is for the challenge over at Merry Monday Christmas!  They really have some fun themed challenged, and like playing along when I get the chance.  This one, however, I couldn't pass up.

The other fun part, is that I challenged my good friend, Breelin Renwick at Craft-somnia Momma to play along with me.  Make sure you go visit her, to see what she created!

I have three favorite retired items that I am using.  Number 1 is the stocking big shot die.  Number 2 is the lattice embossing folder.  Number 3 is the festive flurry stamp set and matching framelit set.  My mother loves antique and vintage looking things, so this is perfect to slide her gift card in for one of her Christmas gifts.  Yes, I said gift card holder.  You see when you lift the stocking top up, there is a pocket that you can slide a gift card in.  My plan is to attach it like a tag to the outside of her other wrapped package.  I love everything about my stocking, but I real fun element, is the little mini punched stars that dangle on natural twine from the large snowflake cluster.

Inside showing where the gift card or cash can be slid inside.

I stamped the snowflake in baked brown sugar ink, and cut out a champagne glitter snowflake to layer in behind.  I also stamped the sentiment of "merry and bright" from the Good Greetings stamp set.

Supplies Used
Cardstock ~ very vanilla, champagne glitter paper
Ink ~ baked brown sugar
DSP ~ typeset
Stamp set ~ good greetings, festive flurry (retired)
Misc. ~ stocking die (retired), snowflake framelit set, (retired), mini star punch, natural twine, very vintage buttons, lattice embossing folder (retired)

I hope you have enjoyed my challenge project.  Leave some "love" as I always enjoy reading your comments on my projects.

Nutty or Nice? Family Christmas Card Option #2 Contest!

Good morning and thanks for stopping by to visit me here at Ink a Doodle Creations!  Today I am sharing my #2 choice for my family Christmas card.  If you remember from last week when I posted my holiday card using the festival of trees stamp set, I usually design and put together a few choices for my families Christmas card.  Click HERE for choice #1.

If you want to play along, here is how:  for 4 weeks I will post a Christmas card choice (#1 thru #4) here on my blog.  Comment on each post and on the final #4 card, I will have a voting panel set up on my facebook page for you to vote which is your favorite.  If my family (i.e. husband and two sons) picks the winning card that got the most votes, you will be entered in to WIN a Stampin' Up! surprise!!!

I am so in love with the cute Santa Stache stamp set.  I can't decide which is my favorite, the Santa or the Nutcracker!  One of the things I did differently, is I used a piece of champagne glitter paper to cut out the mustache for the nutcracker.  It adds just the right amount of glitz to this Christmas card.

Supplies Used
Cardstock ~ garden green, whisper white, real red
Ink ~ real red, garden green, soft sky, skin blendabilities set
Stamp set ~ santa stache
DSP ~ trim the tree dsp stack

Festival of Trees Prototype #1 Family Christmas Card

Good morning and thanks for joining me here at Ink a Doodle Creations.  Today I am over at Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration and we are sharing some early Christmas cards.  Now's about the time I start thinking about how I want our family Christmas card to look.  I usually make up about 3-4 prototypes and lay them out in front of the family and let them decide. Well.....I let them give their opinion, then I decide!!!!!  Well, I am the MOM, it has to count for something!  This is the 1st of four prototypes I will have for them.  This card is a little detailed, but keep in mind that I only hand make about 10-12 handmade cards.  They go to those who I know appreciate my cards, but also the time I have put into them.  All others....well they get really simple cards.

One of my favorite stamp sets from the new Stampin' Up! Holiday Mini catalog is the Festival of Trees set.  Not only do I love that its a photopolymer stamp set (easy for stamping and layering the decorations), but it also has a coordinating punch to cut the trees out.  I love things that coordinate together to make my life run smoother.  One, well, two of the cute factors of this card for me, is the silver sequins and the cute little banner cluster at the top left corner.  Its just something about banners that make a card...just....cute!!

I punched out two solid trees in smoky slate and lost lagoon and then stamped one from the set in pear pizzazz and added a few basic rhinestones to the dots.

On the inside, I added some all is calm washi tape and added a couple more trees.

Supplies Used
Cardstock ~ whisper white, lost lagoon, pear pizzazz
DSP ~ all is calm
Ink ~ lost lagoon, pear pizzazz
Stamp set ~ festival of trees
Misc. ~ all is calm washi tape, frosted sequins, tree punch, on point embossing folder, banner punch

I hope you have enjoyed my first prototype Christmas card and you want to participate in a fun contest (read below for the details).  Come back and keep your eye out for the second prototype card I will post next week.  After all four prototypes have been posted, I will have a contest and there will be a prize!!  Leave some "love" and go visit our main blog to see some more great ideas for Christmas cards, you might get INKspired!!!

If you want to play along, here is how:  for 4 weeks I will post a Christmas card choice (#1 thru #4) here on my blog.  Comment on each post and on the final #4 card, I will have a voting panel set up on my facebook page for you to vote which is your favorite.  If my family (i.e. husband and two sons) picks the winning card that got the most votes, you will be entered in to WIN a Stampin' Up! surprise!!!

"Stache"-ingly Fun Christmas

Good morning and thanks for joining me here at Ink a Doodle Creations.  Today over at Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration, we are sharing some early ideas for Christmas/Holiday cards.  If you have a large holiday card list, then its never to early to start thinking about what this years card is going to be and get a good head start on creating them.  I hope we INKspire you with an idea that you will use.

My Christmas card today is a simple one but has a lot of detail that sparkle.  I started with a base color of garden green and layered it with a strip of DSP from the Trim the Tree paper stack.  I also layered behind it a strip on each side of champagne glitter paper.  I colored with my Blendabilities the Santa from the Santa Stache stamp set.  I cut out another mustache, using the handy dandy mustache framelit and layered it with stampin dimensionals and added some dazzling diamonds for a sparkly detail.  I also added a pearl to his santa hat.  To finish it off I stamped a sentiment from the same set and cut the tail like a banner and stapled it to a smaller DSP banner.
