With Sympathy #Mojo370 and #PPA226

Good morning!  Its Friday, Friday, Friday and boy am I so ready for it!  Today I am sharing a card that's not one that excited me to make.  One of my customers and stamp club members, emailed me to let me know that her father had passed away this past Monday, as well as her sister who had a tragic fall.  My heart goes out to my friend and her family.  I made this card to send out to her.

I was looking around at some challenges to inspire me for her card.  I chose the color challenge at Pals Paper Arts and the sketch challenge at Mojo Monday.  Both worked well together.

Celebrating 50 Years CPC#35

Good morning!  It's Friday, Friday, Friday!!  Time to get set to celebrate the weekend, but first lets celebrate 50 years of marriage!  NO, not me!  This card is for my mother and father-in-law.  They are getting ready to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary!

I have been eyeballing the fun sketches over at Craft Project Central for some time now, but have never joined in the fun.  Well this is what todays card is for.  I hope you enjoy!

Since 50 years, is considered the golden anniversary, I wanted to use some gold colors.  I used a mixture of gold foil paper, and hello honey, one of our new awesome 2014 In Color's!!  The strip at the bottom that looks like DSP...well it's not, its just a very vanilla layer that I have brushed on all the colors from the yellow family.

My favorite part with this card, is that I was able to practice my coloring with Stampin' Up!'s new blendabilities.  I used the color set of Daffodil Delight to color and blend the flowers from the Flower Shop stamp set.

Thanks for stopping by today!  I hope you have enjoyed my card.  Have a nice weekend and don't forget to stop back in Monday morning to see what I've been working on over the weekend!

Washi Tape Madness PP192

It's Friday, Friday, Friday!!!  Time to get this day over and done with to get this weekend started.  A lot of fun things on my plate.  First, I have a Park to Park Half Marathon that I'm running in Waynesboro, Va (wish me luck!), second I'm headed to Richmond to enjoy my Birthday dinner at non other than, Olive Garden!!!  Man I love that place!!  Chicken alfredo and cheesecake here I come!!!  My birthday was this past Monday, April 21!

Today's card is for the fun washi tape challenge over at The Paper Players.  I immediately went to town and decided to work with one my my favorite washi tape collections, Retro Fresh.  I just love the colors.  It reminds me of Spring!

I started out with coastal cabana as my card base.  I added a background layer of baked brown sugar and very vanilla.  I then just tore strips of washi tape and layered them down on top of the vanilla at different angles.  I cut out a film shape from the on film framelit set and added it as my final top layer using foam dots.  The final touches came in with white leaves from the secret garden framelit set and a coastal cabana stamped flower from the flower shop set.  I did add a strip of ruffled baked brown sugar ribbon along the bottom edge and a boutique button to the center of my flower.

As always, I can't forget the inside.  Remember, its just as important as the outside.  I kept it along the same lines as the outside, only using the smallest film frame.  I made my leaf and flower a little smaller but just cutting some off.  I always try to leave plenty of room for a handwritten message.

Supplies Used
Cardstock ~ baked brown sugar, coastal cabana, very vanilla
Ink ~ coastal cabana, so saffron, baked brown sugar
Stamp Sets ~  Express Yourself (retiring), flower shop
Misc. ~ retro fresh washi tape, word window punch, on film framelit set, boutique in color buttons (retiring), secret garden framelit set (retiring), baked brown sugar ruffled ribbon (retiring)

I hope you have enjoyed my washi tape creation.  Leave some "love", as I always enjoy reading your comments!  Now go pull your favorite washi tape and play along.

Birthday Wishes Card Sketch w/ SSInkspiration

Good morning bloggers and welcome to our Monday card sketch challenge with Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration!  I hope everyone had a nice weekend full of fun events and relaxing times...cause isn't that what the weekends are for?!  Today we have a simple sketch to play along with.

This turned into a great sketch for me.  I used colors from my Color Coach of Pool party, crushed curry and old olive.  When I am stuck for color inspiration, I always love to use the Color Coach cause it always helps.  With a tag shape being the main focal point of this sketch, it only made since to use the scalloped tag punch.  I added a layer of burlap with some gold twine and layered some stamped and punched flowers.

I also added a flower with green vine to the inside.

Supplies Used
Stamp Set ~ Flower Shop, Petite Pairs, Secret Garden
Cardstock ~ pool party, very vanilla
Ink ~ crushed curry, old olive, soft suede

Flower Shop Madness Color Challenge with SSInk

Good morning and welcome to Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration!  I hope you had a fun filled weekend and are ready to jump into this Monday with a fun color challenge!  Head on over to our main blog page and check out all the details on how to enter our color challenge.
http://www.ssinkspiration.blogspot.com/
When thinking of the colors, I was thinking flowers (Spring=no more snow and warm weather!!), when thinking flowers, I was thinking Flower Shop.  I needed to make a get well card, so flowers fit perfect.  Nothing makes a person better and cheers them up more than flowers!

I stamped and punched out three flowers, one in each color and added a large basic rhinestone to the center.  I think the banner down the side added the perfect touch.

On the inside I added one flower and added the same banners, but going in a different direction to leave plenty of room for my get well message.

Supplies Used
Stamp Sets ~  Flower Shop and Perfectly penned
Cardstock ~  perfect plum, marina mist, real red and whisper white
Ink ~  perfect plum, marina mist and real red
Punches ~  pansy flower, 1/2" circle punch and itty bitty punch pack
Misc. ~ flower border folder, large basic rhinestones
DSP ~ Brights basics

I hope you have enjoyed my card and it has INKspired you to come join our color challenge!

Flower Shop 3 in a Row Technique

Good morning bloggers and thanks for joining me here with Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration.

Today we are sharing a technique called "3 in a row stamping".  Let me just say this is so simple, yet so fun to do.  I knew I wanted to use a flower set of some kind and decided on what better set than, "Flower Shop".  Click HERE to watch a great video tutorial on how this is done, by ClubScrap.

The hardest part was choosing the color and DSP I wanted to use, but after about 10 minutes of back and forth, I decided to have a cup of coffee... I decided to go with Afternoon Picnic DSP and Wisteria Wonder as my  color choice!!!  See the coffee helped! For my sentiment I used Best of Greetings stamp set.
Again, I used the same technique inside only with crushed curry this time.  I added a short strip of embossed very vanilla across the bottom with a piece of the new natural chevron ribbon under that.

Card Supplies:
Stamp Sets:  Best of Greetings, Flower Shop
Cardstock:  very vanilla, Wisteria Wonder
DSP:  Afternoon Picnic
Ink:  pear pizzazz, crushed curry and wisteria wonder
Misc.:  honeycomb embossing folder, apothecary accents framelit set, natural chevron ribbon, subtle candy dots.

All these products can be purchased HERE!

Thanks again for stopping by.  Don't forget to leave some "love" before heading over to the main blog of SSINKspiraiton, to see what the other design team members have created with this fun technique.  I hope I have INKspired you to go create!
