So I kept my card really simple in design cause I wanted my new lacy in color trim to really stand out and be the main focal.  I used my polka dotted stencil and sponged on some circles in watermelon wonder and stamped a simple "thinking of you" from the Crazy About You stamp set,  I added a few rhinestones cause...well...sometimes you just need to add some bling and sparkle!!

Supplies Used
Cardstock ~ watermelon wonder, whisper white
Ink ~ watermelon wonder
Stamp set ~ Crazy About You

Favorite Retiring Stamp Set!

Good Friday morning!  There is two words I love to hear:  1)  the word Friday and 2) the word Coffee, and when the two happen on the same day, well... I'm a happy girl!  Today I am over at Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration and we are sharing a favorite retiring stamp set or item from Stampin' Up!  Don't wait to much longer to get your hands on any of these items, cause everything will be gone come June 3rd!!

Perfect Blend is one of my favorite stamp sets and will remain on my stampin' shelves.   Its so cute for a simple stamping or to stamp and layer with DSP which I have done on my above card.  I used the bottom of a coffee cup to stamp the rings on my background layer as well as the ink splatter from the gorgeous grunge stamp set in one of the new 2015 in colors...tip top taupe!

Supplies Used
Cardstock ~ very vanilla, tip top taupe
Ink ~ Bermuda bay, tip top taupe
Stamp sets ~ gorgeous grunge, perfect blend
Misc. ~ coffee cup, Bermuda bay sequins, circle framelit set

I hope you have enjoyed my card, leave some love and head on over to the main blog site of SSINK and see what the other designers created using their favorite retiring item.

Pinterest Inspired!!

Good morning and thanks for stopping by here at Ink a Doodle Creations.  Today I am over at SSINKspiration and we are sharing projects inspired by Pinterest.  You know that place online we all just can't get enough of.  From Recipes, to color combos, to card sketches and home decorating ideas, one can find just about anything on Pinterest.  Its such an inspiring one stop shop.  As I was browsing and looking for something to pop out at me, I was a little hungry and look what caught my eye?!  YEPPER, cake with sprinkes!!!

So with cake and the fun colored sprinkles it made me think of cupcakes and one of the all new stamp sets in the upcoming Stampin' Up! catalog coming June 2, "Sprinkles of Life".

I am in love with cupcakes anyway, but now I can create fun ones, with any colored frosting and toppings, but without the calories!!!

Supplies Used
Cardstock ~ whisper white, vellum, cucumber crush
DSP ~ cherry on top stack
Stamp set ~ sprinkles of life
Punches ~ new triple banner punch, tree builder punch, corner rounder
Misc. ~ basic rhinestones, cherry on top washi tape, lots of dots embossing folder

Hip-Hip Hooray!! FM209

Good Friday morning peeps!  Today I am over at The Friday Mashup and Bree has a super fun challenge for ya this week!  Today I also head to Fredericksburg, Va to run the Marine Corp Historic Half Marathon.  I'm really looking forward to my weekend away!  Wish me luck!

This weeks challenge is to:
*  create a project using the colors of Bermuda bay, crushed curry and night of navy
*  create a project for a celebration
*  or mash it up and create a project using both challenges

I wanted to use the dotted angles stamp set to create a simple yet colorful background.  I just love Bree's color combo.  It's perfect for a celebration card.  I used night of navy to stamp the "hip -hip hooray!" sentiment using the bravo stamp set.

Supplies Used
Cardstock ~ whisper white, Bermuda bay
Ink ~ night of navy, crushed curry, Bermuda bay
Stamp sets ~ bravo and dotted angles
Misc. ~ Bermuda bay sequins

For my blog hop projects I decided to use one of my favorite flower stamp sets, Beautiful Bunch and mix it together with the retiring stamp set Lots of Thanks.  Each flower design is pretty in its own way.

On this card, I used the color of hello honey to stamp the flower in.  I also used matching washi tape and sponged the paper doily in the same color.

My second card uses the color of strawberry slush.  I will so miss this retiring color in how cheerful and bright it is.

And for my last card, I used lost lagoon.  I just love the matching washi tape across the top and the stapled cotton twine.

SUNshine Mom FM208

Good Friday morning!  Today I am over at The Friday Mashup and Amy has a fun challenge for us.  With Mother's Day this weekend, I wish all you Mom's a Happy Mother's Day and hope you have a wonderful crafty weekend!

This week's Mashup! Challenge:
  • Create a project using a "Recycled or Upcycled Item".
  • Create a project for "Mother's Day".
  • or Mash it Up! and create a project for Mother's Day using a Recycled/Upcycled Item".

So my sunshine started out in my head being a recycled cupcake paper holder, but well I didn't have a white or yellow one.  I had a Halloween one but after I colored it yellow, you could still see the pumpkins thru it!!!  So there went that idea out the window LOL!!  So I just cut out a daffodil delight starburst shape and stamped it with the sunray from the kinda eclectic stamp set.  I added some google eyes and drew on a smiley face.  This is just a fun kid friendly Mother's Day card to enjoy!

Supplies Used
Cardstock ~ pacific point, whisper white, daffodil delight, calypso coral
Ink ~ crushed curry, pacific point marker
Stamp set ~ kinda eclectic
Misc. ~ daffodil delight seam binding ribbon, banner punch, little letters die set, google eyes, starburst framelit set, large dots embossing folder, (kids handwriting FREE!!)

Warm Wishes Deer You! FM207

Good Friday morning!  Today I am over at The Friday Mashup were we have a new and fun challenge.  So go look thru all of those hidden treasurers and get to creating and join us!

This week's Mashup! Challenge!
  • Create a project using "the sketch".
  • Create a project using "your favorite Retired/Retiring/Forgotten Stamp".
  • or Mash it Up! and create a project using your Favorite Retired Stamp set and the Sketch".

Well I couldn't just pick one stamp set for my favorite, I picked two.  Off the grid is the first one.  This is such a fun and cool stamp to use for backgrounds for those special guys in your life or really just about any project.  The second is, Remembering Christmas and I don't love and use it for Christmas, again its the perfect set to use for masculine cards and projects.  Its the one thing my stamp set cabinet lacks, is more masculine stamp sets.

Supplies Used
Cardstock ~ tangelo twist, whisper white, cardboard cardstock
Ink ~ baked brown sugar, tangelo twist, mossy meadow
Stamp sets ~ off the grid, remembering Christmas
Misc. ~ baked brown sugar twine, hot glue gun for dots, mossy meadow satin in color ribbon, wooden clothes pins, mini banner punch

I hope you have enjoyed my card this week.  Leave some "love" and make sure you slide on over to the main page for The Friday Mashup and see what the other designers created!
