My Cup of Tea #FM199

Good Friday morning and since its Friday, it must mean that its time for another challenge over at The Friday Mashup!  Tara is feeling antiquee and she has come up with a great mashup for everyone.

This week's Mashup Challenge:
  • Create a project with an "Antique Style, element or theme".
  • Create a project using the "Embossed Embossing technique" (tutorial) .
  • or Mash it Up! and create an "Antique project using the Embossed Embossing Technique".

When I think of antique, I think of my Mom's blue and white dishes she likes to collect.  I just love the Stampin' Up! Tea Party stamp set.  It was perfect for this challenge and the added lace trim brought it all together.

Pinterest Inspired

Good morning and thanks for dropping by.  Today I am over at Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration where today we are sharing projects created from things that inspired us from Pinterest.  As I was browsing thru some of the boards that I enjoy following, I came across this set of blueprints from My Favorite Things.  It was a great set of sketches and I knew right away what stamp set I wanted to use for it.

blueprints 14.... 4 square card sketches

I really enjoy the new stamp set "Crazy About You" from the new SU! occasions catalog because it has tons or words that you can use to create your own phrase and the flower that comes with it is adorable.

This just happens to be my first Mothers Day card out of the way.  One down, one more today!  I stamped three times the flower in tangerine tango and cut it out in three pieces to layer with foam dots.  I added a clear button with a natural twine bow to the center.  I added three different sized dots I created using crystal affects and colored with the dark shade of night of navy blendabilities.

Perk Up with CYCI58

Good morning!  Thanks for stopping by to see my project for the new challenge over at Can You Case It? this week.  This week its "designers choice" which means we get to create what we want.  My friend has been sick the past couple of weeks, so I wanted to create and send her a card to perk her up and since we both are huge fans of "COFFEE", what better card to send her than a coffee card!!!  Take a few minutes and go get your craft on and join us this week!

The little coffee cup comes from a monthly Simon Says kit I got a few months ago.  It included a cute little coffee themed stamp set and a metal die that cuts out this coffee cup.  The pink/yellow dsp I used also came from this kit.  I added some strawberry slush twine for a little girly look!

Supplies Used
Cardstock ~ whisper white (SU!)
Ink ~ tangelo twist (SU!)
DSP ~ Simon Says
Stamps/Dies ~ sentiment and coffee cup is Simon Says, Word Bubble stiched die is My Favorite Things
Misc. ~ strawberry slush twine (SU!)

Now that you've seen my designers choice card, I hope it inspires you to go create and join in the fun this week at Can You Case It?

Dropping in for Your Birthday #FM198 Challenge

Good Friday morning everyone!  Today I am over at The Friday Mashup where Lisa has come up with a fun mashup challenge for us this week.  I hope you will enjoy my challenge card and decide to come play along with us.

This week's Mashup Challenge:
  • Create a project using the "Sketch".
  • Create a project with anything "Flight Themed (hot air balloon, plane, kite, etc)"
  • or Mash it Up! and create a project "using the sketch and anything flight themed".

One of the things I enjoy creating are cute kids cards, but just don't do it often.  As soon as I saw the theme of "take flight" I new right away what stamp set I wanted to play around with.  The Boys will be Boys stamp set is perfect for any little boy.

I hope you have enjoyed my challenge card, leave some "love" and go see what the other designers created!

Creative Blog Hop Take 2

I was nominated by my good friend Diana Eichfeld over at Stampin' Fun with Diana.  Go visit her blog and see what she created for her project!

I have been wanting to create a new wreath for my front door for Valentines Day, so I broke out my big shot spiral flower die and some felt and went to town.  I love how fast and easy these flowers are to create.  It was the perfect little touch to place next to my pom pom style flowers. I started with wrapping my wreath with fluffy off white yarn.  This took the most time but with the tv on and a good cup of coffee by my side, I was set to wrap!

These are two of the cute little rose flowers I created with the big shot flower die.  After all my flowers were made, I placed them on top my wreath to get the exact location for all of them and then started hot gluing in place.

I spray painted my wooden word "love" in black and hot glued it to the right side of my wreath.

Aren't the cute little pom pom flowers so cute?!

After all the flowers were glued in place, I went back and added in a little chevron ribbon and some wrapped clusters of black 1/8" ribbon to accent the flowers.

In addition to posting a card or project, the hop creators asked each participant to answer the questions below.

1. What are you working on?  I am currently working on some upcoming design team projects, shhhhh

2. How does your work differ from others in your genre?  I tend to use layers vs. a single card layer.

3. Why do you create what you do?  I create what I do for the simple reason of "it keeps me sane"!!!  I do day care in my home with up to 5 kids at times, and by the end of the day, I am in need of some relaxing stamping time!

4. How does your creativity process work? I always start with either a sketch challenge or a color challenge and work from there.  Second step would be selecting the stamp set.

I hope you have enjoyed my creative blog hop project.  I hope I have inspired you to go be creative!

Good and Dirty! #SSINKCS18

Good morning!  Today I am normally playing along with SSINK as a design team member with our sketch challenge, but this week I decided to play along as a simple player!  One of the things about being a designer with SSINK, is that we can only use Stampin' Up! supplies.  I have lots of other non SU! toys that I enjoy just as much and I enjoy playing with them too.  Come visit the gals at SSINK and play along with our fun sketch this week!

When I came across this cute dog stamp set, I knew I needed to pair it with my brick wall embossing folder to create the edging for my challenge card.  Now of course I did use some SU! supplies....I used some of the blendabilities to color in the dogs bed, butterfly and or course, some of the dirtiness on the doggie.  For the sake of name calling, we'll call her "Ellie"!!!  Ellie, you see has been naughty, she has been digging holes in the backyard with her friend and partner in crime, "Roxie"!!

I hope you have enjoyed my challenge card for this months sketch challenge over at SSINK!  Click the link above and go get inkspired from the design team!

Oodles of Love at FM196

Good morning its Friday, Friday, Friday!  Don't you just love saying that word?!  Any who, today I'm over at The Friday Mashup and Holly has come up with a lovely color palette of red, pink and white or to mash it up, add a theme of Love.  I hope you will get inspired and come join us!

So for my card, I decided to keep it nice and simple.  I started with a base of very vanilla and a single layer of the same.  I look a piece of vanilla cardstock and water colored it with sahara sand using my aqua painter.  I then stamped the hardwood stamp in sahara sand as well.  I tore the edged and sponged in blushing bride.  I added two stamped hearts from the Snuggles and Smooches stamp set on blushing bride and rose red cardstock.  I even added a snipped and folded piece of chevron ribbon tucked under the one heart.  I finished it off with a stamped "oodles of love" sentiment a couple candy dots.

Stamp Set Focus with SSINK

Today is stamp set focus over at SSINK and the designers are putting their focus on Snuggles and Smooches stamp set.  This is such a fun a cute stamp set and holds a big pack of punch for creating a simple card to an all out decked out card.

I did some heat embossing with my project card.  I first stamped with versa mark the smaller circle design and covered it in white powder and heated it up.  I did this three times.  I then took my ink pads in wisteria wonder, sahara sand and crisp cantaloupe with my aqua painters and did some fun water coloring.  The "love" is just stamped in crisp cantaloupe on a white banner layer.

Now its hard to see in the photo and I'm sorry, that I inked up my zig zag embossing folder with some vera mark ink and did some heat embossing again in just a small area for a subtle background.

Thank you for stopping by.  Leave some "love" and head on over to our main blog to see what fun things the other designers have created with this stamp set.  We hope to of inkspired you!

Floating Window Technique at SSINK

Good morning!  Today I'm over at Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration and its Technique Tuesday!  Today we are sharing projects created using the fun technique, "floating windows".  Make sure you click the link above to go see the how to video on how to create with this fun and simple technique.

I used one of the larger oval framelits to cut out my window shape, I then layered it with a clear window sheet cut down to size and stamped "congrats" on with black stazon to make it appear that it is floating along with the two stamped and punched out flowers.  On the inside I have two of the same flowers in the same spot glued down right under the outside flowers to help add a little inside decoration.

Supplies Used
Cardstock ~ whisper white, soft suede, calypso coral, crushed curry
DSP ~ best year ever (SAB item FREE with a $50 order)
Ink ~ black stazon, crushed curry, calypso coral
Stamp set ~ petal potpourri, simply wonderful (SAB item FREE with a $50 order)
Misc. ~ hodgepodge clips, twine

I hope you have enjoyed my take on the floating window technique.  Leave some "love" and head on over to our main blog to see what the other design team members have created!  Happy Stamping!

Bloom For You #SSINKCC18

Good Monday morning!  Today I'm over at Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration where we have an all new sketch challenge.  It is the first Monday of the month already so put on those thinking cups and go get creative.  I can't wait to see what you create with our sketch.

Today I am going super simple, but simple is good sometimes cause you can appreciate the details more.  I just love the striped scallop thinlit, its great for backgrounds.  I cut out one and cut it almost in half and placed on the lower part of my whisper white later.  I stamped my flower and again the center in tangelo twist and placed it on my card using stampin dimensionals.  I love how added just a few pearls at the top pulled it all together and added a little delicate bling.

Supplies Used
Cardstock ~ whisper white, coastal cabana
Ink ~ coastal cabana, tangelo twist
Stamp set ~ bloom for you, big day (SAB set free with any $50 order)
Misc. ~ black bakers twine, striped scallop thinlit, basic pearls
