Happy Birthday MDS #SSINKLS16

Good Monday morning!  I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend.  Spent mine wrapping my moms Christmas gifts, cleaning house, grocery shopping, finished up my own Christmas gift shopping and wrapping as well as enjoying a night out for dinner at Olive Garden and a drive thru light show!  But sadly this weekend has come and gone and its just another Monday, UGH!!  The exciting flip side is that its time for another awesome sketch challenge over at Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration!  We hope you will get INKspired and play along with us this week!

Here is our sketch....

and here is what I created with it.  Since I was working with just one photo, I decided to down size mine and instead of designing a 12x12 page, I created a 8x8 page celebrating my oldest sons 15th Birthday!

Supplies Used
My Digital Studios software, Best Birthday Yet kit, Bermuda bay brads, Bermuda bay ink splatters

I hope you have enjoyed my MDS page and it will INKspire you to join in our sketch challenge.  Leave some "love" and go see what our other designers have created!

Good Monday morning, time for another fun and this time simple sketch layout challenge here with Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration.  We hope you will come play along with us.  So what are we waiting on, lets get started.  Below is our sketch layout.  Make it your own and link up your finished page thru our main blog post (click above link) or join our Facebook group and link it to the challenge post for today!  Either way, we just want to see you having fun and creating!!

I'll have to be honest and say that I don't have any Halloween pictures that need to be scrapbooked right now.  I guess you could say "I'm caught up)  But I thought I'd go ahead and create a fun and quick one ready for pictures for this coming Halloween.  Loving how quick MDS can make it for me when I'm in a hurry and don't have time to pull out all my hand held toys.

A Mother's Day Kiss June Layout Challenge with SSInk

Good Monday morning!  Its time for our June Layout Challenge over at Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration.  We hope that you will come play along!  Our design team members have done a great job with our sketch this month.  Don't forget to go visit each blog to see what they have created.  Our layout challenge this month is Project Life inspired.  This can be done in My Digital Studios, using actual Project Life supplies or creating your own page just using the layout.  As always, just have fun!!!

Here is the fun sketch.....

And here is what I came up with.  I wanted to create a second page to one I created as a selfie last month.  It finishes up my Mother's Day pages.  I really did have fun creating this page.  Having the Project Life Adventure cards really made it easy and simply to pull together.  The three flowers are the burlap embellishment ones.  I just recolored them to match my page.  I added a black brad to the center of each, did a little journaling and I'm done and ready to move on to the next project on my list!

Something for Baby a.k.a. Daddy!!

Good morning and thanks for stopping by.  Today over at Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration we are sharing projects just for "Father's Day"!  Sometimes it can be tricky to come up with a gift for that special man in your life and give it in a fun and easy way.  Today I am sharing my fun shaker card with matching gift box.

Stampin' Up! is making it so easy for us to give fun and easy gifts with their line of gift bags and boxes.  One of the fun boxes I love that we offer is the Tag a Bag Gift Box.  Its so easy to put together, decorate and I love how you can see through the sleeve as to what's inside.

The box is very simple.  Lets face it, a man doesn't look at how a gift is decorated like a woman, I don't care who you are.  I will look over a package from head to toe before I dive in, my husband barely looks to see who its from before he dives in, but the crafter in me, still must make my packages look cute and awesome! I created in pacific point, a wrap to go around my box.  I cut a second one in the same zig zag DSP and punched each end with the scalloped tag punch.  Its tied together with some gumball green stitched ribbon. My cute little matching tag like the one on my card is hanging from some natural twine.  I added two cute little ties, inserted rolled up tie and my gift packaging is done.  This cute gift box could be used for so many more things other than a tie.  You could place a gift card inside, along with some of his favorite gums and or mints.  Maybe a bag of his favorite candy, or even a small hand tool with maybe a Sears or Lowes gift card.  The possibilities are endless!!

I wanted my card to be a fun card.  So I decided to create a shaker card and use the cute little tie with some punched mini circles and gold sequins to place in the inside.  I just love the June My Paper Pumpkin kit.  Even though I have created all those fun cards from the kit, the fun doesn't stop there.  I can use the ink stamp n' spot and stamp set from the kit to keep creating new projects.  I created my shaker box using the On Film framelit set and a sheet of gumball green coordination cardstock and sanded it down for some added texture.  Gumball green stitched ribbon and gold bakers twine finishes off the shaker box, but the fun doesn't stop there.  I wanted a larger tie to attach to the side.  So I called upon "Old Trusy"!  Old Trusty of course is MDS.  I found the tie shape I needed, cut it out and added some stamped splatter and BAM, my card is complete!

On the inside, I stamped the splattered dots from the gorgeous grunge set and added a couple banners and one tie at the bottom with a few punched circles.

Supplies Used
Cardstock ~ whisper white, gumball green coordination paper (retiring), basic gray, pacific point, so saffron
Ink ~ basic gray, so saffron, pacific point, gumball green
Stamp set ~ Something for Baby, June my paper pumpkin kit for sentiment, gorgeous grunge
DSP ~ I am me
Ribbon ~ gumball green stitched in color ribbon (retiring), natural twine, basic gray stitched 1/4" grosgrain ribbon (retiring)
Punches ~ artisan punch, apothecary accents framelit set
Misc. bright/subtle candy dots, tag a bag gift box

All these items and more can be purchased HERE!  For any retiring items, be sure to get these items purchased before its to late.  Ordering deadline is June 4, 2014.

May Scrapbook Layout Challenge

Good Monday morning!  You know what that means??  Yes, its time for this months layout challenge over at Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration!  What a fun layout we have for you too!  I hope we will INKspire you to pull out those scrapbook supplies or open up MDS and create with us!

So yes, as you can see I'm am playing catch up with some Christmas pictures.  Since I am primarily a hands on scrapbook kind of girl, I am finding that for quick and easy pages, I like to use MDS.  When I don't have the time to pull out all my supplies, MDS is what I turn too.

With this layout, I wanted to experiment with a Christmas theme.  In keeping it pretty simple with details, I added a simple stamp from the Creative Elements brush set in each of two corners and some gold sequin sprinkles.  The fun part of this page, was playing around with the film strip at the bottom.  It was the perfect way to highlight Loompa and Copper, snoozing after a busy and exciting Christmas day!  I practically had to pry Copper off me, to get him to bed.  He was stuck like glue (well like "redline"!!)

Supplies Used
My Digital Studios Software
Kit Elements: creative elements and something for Christmas brush sets, on film punch set, gold sequin trim, festival of prints DSP

Thanks for stopping by.  I hope I have INkspired you to come join us in our fun and easy scrapbook page layout challenge.  Don't forget to leave some "love, and go check out the layouts from our other design team members!

One of the things I love about this club, is that we are provided with fun sketches/challenges to play along with.  This page went with a sketch to play around with.  I kept it pretty simple with layers cause I wanted to make sure that my photo was the focal point.

Case the Whole Catalog!

Good morning and thanks for stopping by!  Today over at Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration, we are sharing projects "CASED" from a current Stampin' Up! catalog.

Well, since I couldn't for the life of me decide on one (its tough, you try to narrow it down to just one!!), I went with the whole catalog!  Well, I didn't create one of everything inside, but I went with the outside cover of the 2013-2014 catalog!  Boy did this inspire me!

Since I was able to attend Convention 2013 and was lucky enough to meet the one and only Shelli Gardner, I thought it perfect to insert the picture of her and myself together.  I had SOOO much fun last year, I'm ready to head back and do it all over again!  (that also includes eating all the yummy food I ate at The Cheesecake Factory!)

Of course this page was created using MDS!  Where would I be right now without MDS!?  See Breelin, you've created a monster!!

Supplies Used

Good Monday morning!  I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter weekend full of many blessings and fun time!  Today is a special day...not only is it our layout challenge here at Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration, it is also my BIRTHDAY!!!  So Happy Birthday to me!  I celebrated my birthday this past Saturday with a special dinner treat to my favorite place...Olive Garden.  Then as my gift from my husband, he let me go pick out a new bathing suite for this Summer!  Yay Me!!

April's layout is such a fun one.  I hope by the time you seen all the design teams take on this sketch, we will have INKspired you to come create and share with us!

For my layout, I used some of the pictures from my sons last pinewood derby race.  He just earned his arrow of light and has completed his Cub Scout adventure.  I am having so much fun creating and playing with my MDS software, I'm gonna have to buy a longer lasting battery for my laptop at the rate I keep having to charge it!!

Supplies Used
Stampin' Up!'s MDS Software Program

Arrow of Light Scrapbook Page MDS Adventure Club

So the MDS Adventure Club that I am apart of started off this month with some great layouts and challenges for us to play around with.  Like I've said before, I am having so much fun playing around with my Stampin' Up! MDS software. I am learning all kinds of little tips and tricks to make my pages/projects better and better!

Our first project was to create a page that used a picture for your background and to play around with stamps behind your page title.

My youngest son earned his Arrow of Light in the Cub Scouting program last month and this challenge was perfect so that I could highlight the picture of the candle center piece as my background.  This is an honor to earn as its the highest rank a Cub Scout can earn before he crosses over to the Boy Scout trail.  I lowered the opacity to soften the background so that my title and other picture would stand out a little better.

I hope you have enjoyed my first project for April's MDS Adventure Club.  Stay tuned for another challenge page coming up later this week!

One Wicked Birthday with #CTS71

Happy Hump Day!  Yep just two more days after today and its the weekend again!  I know, its terrible that we rush our lives so much thru the week to get to the weekend, but well, they shouldn't have made the weekend so darn fun for someone to look so forward to it coming!!!

I have been been a little bit of a slacker with my challenges I like to play around with this week.  I am getting ready for an all day crop at my house on Saturday and I've been making special treats!  I did find a few minutes to play around with the sketch over at Cas(e) This Sketch!  There was no beating around the bush with this sketch.  I knew right away what I wanted to do.  Don't you love it when that happens?!

This is just the perfect masculine card ever!  Bold guy colors and lots of grunge.  I did use some ribbon for the banner ends, but instead of a bow (which is totally girlie) I just tied a knot.  For my stamp layers, I used Off the Grid and Gorgeous Grudge in colors of island indigo, soft sky and pumpkin pie.

And of course we can't forget the inside.  Kept simple, but I carried the same stamp layers to the inside.  Now all it needs is that hand written birthday message!

Supplies Used
Cardstock ~ very vanilla, early espresso, pumpkin pie, island indigo
Ink ~ early espresso, soft sky, pumpkin pie, island indigo
Stamp Sets ~ Off the Grid and Gorgeous Grunge
Misc. ~ early espresso taf. ribbon, banner punch, candy dots, MDS software where I typed and printed my birthday front sentiment

I hope you have enjoyed my wicked birthday card!  Don't forget to leave some "love", I always appreciate and enjoy reading them!

Friends For Life MDS Scrapbook Fun!

Today I want to share one of first scrapbook pages that I created using my Stampin' Up! MDS program.  Can I just say, that I have really been enjoying MDS and all the things I have been learning about it.  Best part is, there is no clean up.  I click the close button, fold down my laptop screen and I'm down!  Can't get a faster clean up than that!

My friend Breelin and I decided to join an online group called MDS Adventure Club put together by Kimberly Van Diepen and Heather Summers.  Each month we receive special tips, tricks, sketches, tutorials and fun challenges to play along with.  If you would like details on how you can join in on the fun, click the link above.

This page was our second challenge to have some fun with.  Since it includes one picture, I wanted to highlight a picture from Convention last year.  I am so happy with how it turned out!  I can't wait to play along with our next challenge to incorporation our newest technique with background layers.

Thanks for stopping by to check out my fun MDS club page.  Don't forget to leave some "love", as I always enjoy reading your comments!

Snow Much Fun Layout Challenge!!

Good morning and thanks for joining Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration.  Today is our layout challenge!

I am having so much fun playing around with MDS!  Even though it might not be so quick for me (but I'm getting faster) it is easy and the best part is...No Clean Up!  I click one button and close my screen and its done.  Now that is the quickest clean up I've ever done from a project!

Today scrapbook layout challenge is awesome.  My favorite part was the one large shape spread across both pages.  Since I chose to scrapbook our snow fun day, I used one large snowflake as my shape.  I am super excited how my two page spread turned out.

I hope you have been INKspired by mine, that you will go and create one to share with us.  Leave some "love" and head over to our main blog and check out all the other great pages from some of our other design team members.  Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration!

Father's Day MDS Fun with HSS181

Good morning and thanks for stopping by.  I am slowing getting in and working more on playing around with MDS.  Lots and lots of tricks to learn.  Todays page was put together for the color challenge over at Hand Stamped Sentiments.  You should head over, check out the rules and play along.

So the colors of tangerine tango, crushed curry and midnight muse kinda got me at first.  I was having a hard time trying to find the right kind of pictures to use.  Finally I came across these pics from Fathers Day the other year.

After I found a layout I wanted to use, deciding on where I wanted to put the colors was the easy part.  The only little hiccup I have, is that the tangerine tango color looks more like calypso coral to me, but its all good!

I hope you have enjoyed my MDS scrapbook page.  Don't Forget to leave some "love", as I always enjoy and appreciate reading your comments!

Retro Fresh SMILE!

http://www.ssinkspiration.blogspot.com/

Good morning bloggers and thanks for joining me with Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration as we kick off this fine Monday with an awesome page layout challenge!!

http://www.ssinkspiration.blogspot.com/

Ok, so I have to admit, that I am getting a little bit more curious with this MDS for scrapbooking.  After going to my last weekend retreat and only coming back with 19? pages done, I realized that something needs to change.  Even though I still prefer the hands on method of scrapbooking, I do enjoy the quickness and mess free of doing it thru MDS!!

So here is what I came up with.  It was tricky trying the find just the right photo to highlight on this page.  I scanned high and low thru photos and came across this great single picture of our lab, "Loompa".  This was taken of her sitting so lady like in the kitchen one day.  You know, cause she's so "prim and proper"!!  I call her, my "little lady", even though there's nothing little about her! LOL

I just love my newest MDS download.  Its the Retro Fresh DSP.  I think it worked perfect with Loompa's blonde fur (almost vanilla like)!

Supplies Used:
MDS - Retro Fresh DSP, top note punch, scalloped circle punch, circle punch, paw print from patterned pets and lrg splatter from extreme elements.
Colors used -  coastal cabana, very vanilla, baked brown sugar, so saffron and tangerine tango

Any of these downloads can be purchased HERE!

Thanks for dropping by to see my layout creation.  Don't forget to head over to the main blog page for SSINKspiration to see all the layouts created by our talented design team members!  I hope we have INKspired you to join in our layout challenge with us!!

Holiday Cheer Scrapbook Page with MDS

I said I wasn't gonna do it?!  I said I wasn't gonna get involved with the digital software program called MDS that Stampin' Up! has to offer!  Well I lied...I kept seeing so many fun, creative and super cute things beings made with it.  So I went and don't it!

Yesterday  I had a few minutes to sit down and play around.  Even though my love for scrapbooking is still the "hands on method", I wanted to play around and see how it easy it is to create one using their software.  Not to bad for a newby!!!

Here is the 12x12" page I created.  Not to bad for a beginner, I think!

One of the great things I liked right off the bat with MDS, is for a beginner it comes loaded already with designer kits ready to use.  Even though I created this page from scratch, it also comes loaded with layouts already put together for you and all you have to do is insert your photos.  Now just how easy is that!?!

I hope you have enjoyed my scrapbook page and you leave me some "love" before you head to your next blog stop!

Supplies Used:
Stampin' Up! MDS software, #130646, $19.95
