Stamp set ~ regarding dahlias

Hello You PCCS#96

Good morn..ing!!  Its time for another day.  Time for another project to share.  Today I am sharing my card I created yesterday for the fun sketch challenge over at Paper Craft Crew.  Its also another day, that I get to mark off the calendar for the countdown to when my new stamping toys arrive at my door step by that lovely big brown truck!  Stampin' Up! demos all over are either opening their boxes already (lucky ducks) or they are waiting like to me for the first of next week.  My order from the new full catalog should arrive Monday!!!  Its gonna be Christmas and Birthday all over again!!  Ok, Ok, back to my card.

Now that the old is out of the way, I can concentrate on playing with the new.  I didn't preorder a lot of different stamp sets, but did get my hands on all the new in color goodies.  I used Lost Lagoon for my card base, layered with sahara sand and a piece of DSP from the Moonlight paper stack pad.  I just love the polka dots.  This pack really uses a lot of the new in colors.  The other new item I used is the hello honey stitched satin ribbon.  I tied it with a piece of gold bakers twine and used a glue dot to attach to my tag.  I chose the Regarding Dahlias stamp set.  Its one I really love, but don't use a lot.  I think one of the reasons is, is that I find if I use a certain stamp set to much, I get tired of it and this is one that I don't want that to happen with.  I stamped it in Lost Lagoon first on the tag and then again two more times to cut out and layer with foam dots.  I shaded each layer to help it stand out.  The cuteness comes in when I added the buttons.  Even though these do not come in the in colors, the crushed curry and island indigo buttons from the regals family, go pretty well together with this card.

On the inside, I kept it pretty simple with just a stamped flower with a layer of sahara sand cardstock.

Here is just a close up of the details in my flower.

Monochromatic Dahlias with The Card Concept #9

Good morning and thanks for stopping by to see my first entry at The Card Concept challenge blog!

I came across this challenge blog and after reading and browsing around, I just thought the whole "concept" behind their challenges were wonderful!!  No pun intended, ha! ha!

The challenge is to use the theme of monochromatic purple and create it with one of the styles from the design team members.  I decided to go with what I think is  "Clean and Graphic."

Even thought my image is not a solid, I used my sponge dauber to shade from dark to light in wisteria wonder, almost making this a solid image once I stamped it on my deco label cut out.  I also stamped the flower to the center of the vanilla layer to show some of the edge uncolored sticking out from the label.  To have a strong contract, I placed three calypso coral candy dots in the center of my flower.  I stuck with elegant eggplant as my base card and used one layer of very vanilla scored along the sides to keep it clean.  I stamped a simple "hi" in the lower corner in eggplant to match the card base.

Even though I am not showing the full inside of my card, you can see that I kept it simple by stamping part of the dahlia and shading it like I did the flower on the front.

Supplies Used
Cardstock ~ Elegant eggplant, wisteria wonder, very vanilla
Ink ~ wisteria wonder, elegant eggplant
Stamp set ~ Regarding Dahlias
Misc. ~ Subtles candy dots, deco label framelit set

I hope you have enjoyed my spin on the challenge over at The Card Concept.  Don't forget to leave some "love", as I always enjoy reading your comments!

Runway Inspired CTS #73

Thanks for stopping by! Today I am sharing my take on the fun challenge over at CAS(e) this Sketch.  The challenge, if you choose to except it, is to get inspired by the runway challenge and mix it with the sketch challenge.  I did choose to except the challenge, and I'm ready to share what I came up with...

The challenge..

So WOW!  You know when you have a plan in your head, but then when you sit down to create that plan, how it never comes out the way you planned?!?  Well throw that thought out the window, cause my hands actually listened to my head and it came out just right!  Well, as far as my opinion goes!  Wink!  Wink!  I started with deciding on what flower set I wanted to use.  Of course, it was stippled blossoms.  Just perfect for layering.  My flowers were stamped with a rolling rub off technique (as I like to call it!)  I stamped the whole flower in real red, rolled the edges to remove some of the ink, then rolled the edge in tangerine tango ink.  I then stamped the layered stamp on top in basic black.  When you stamp this flower, it leaves a little white space, well I didn't want that, I wanted to add in some blue.  So I took my tempting turquoise pen and colored it in.

I also didn't want start white to be the background.  I used my mosaic embossing folder, inked it up in black and then ran my white paper thru my big shot.  I then, stamped in black the stripped mosaic stamp from the full set, punched and layered, added a black candy dot (you can never have to much candy!!) to the center of three and I my background was complete.

I really hope you have enjoyed my take on the Runway challenged mixed with the CASE(e) This Sketch.  I really had fun creating it!
