Heart of Gold! CYCI#52

Good morning, thanks for stopping by to visit me here at Ink a Doodle Creations.  Today I am over at Can You Case It and its time to start the new year with our first color challenge.  I hope you will get inspired by the designers and join us!  I can't wait to see what you create with these fun colors.

Well if you are like me and you have boys instead of girls in the house, you know that the traditional colors or pinks and reds just don't cut it when it comes to creating Valentine's Day cards.  So when I saw the colors for me to work with, I got all excited.  Not like I'm drinking a cup of coffee excited, but pretty darn close!!!  Now this is a V-day card that could be given to any man/boy.

Supplies Used
Cardstock ~ pool party, whisper white, gold foil paper
Ink ~ black stazon, pool party
Stamp set ~ Snuggles and Smooches
Misc. ~ circle framelit set

Leave some "love" and head on over to see what the other designers created for our color challenge.  We hope to see you join us!

Stamping with Folders FM192

Good morning and thanks for stopping by.  Today I am honored and excited to announce that I was selected to be one of three new designers to join The Friday Mashup Challenge Blog!  Today is my first challenge to join in with the other talented team members!  Want to join in the fun?  Lisa has come up with a fun challenge for us to play along with!

This week's Mashup Challenge is:

  • Create a project with an "Embossing Folder Stamping Technique". Link Here
  • Create a project  with "Mix & Matched Shapes".
  • or Mash it Up! and create a "project using the technique with different shapes".

One of my favorite embossing folders is the tiny triangles, so I knew it was my pic to use for stamping.  I inked it up in real red and stamped it on whisper white cardstock.  The layer across the front is just a simple piece of vellum.  I cut out the letters to spell out "love you" in basic black cardstock using the little letters thinlits.  I mash it uped by creating some circles with crystal effects and colored them black using a sharpie.

Supplies Used
Cardstock ~ real red, gold foil paper, whisper white
Ink ~ real red
Misc. ~ tiny triangles folder, crystal effects, black sharpie marker, little letters thinlits

Thanks for stopping by and making my first day with The Friday Mashup special!  Leave some "love" and come join us with our fun challenge!

2015 Occasions Catalog SSINK Blog Hop

Who is ready for some hopping good fun with the designers at Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration?  Today is our first Blog Hop for 2015 and we are so excited to be sharing projects using all new items from the Stampin' Up! Occasions Catalog!

As you hop along, please be sure to comment and show some love on every blog! We are always excited to hear from our followers! You should have just left stop number #11 on the Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration Blog Hop - Carrie at Carrie Stamps . If so, you are in the right spot. If a link doesn't work or you get off track, you will find the full blog hop lineup below.

One of my favorite stamp sets from the occasions catalog is "Sheltering Tree".  Don't get me wrong, I love Lovely as a Tree, but I love how you can change the trees toppings to make it a tree for any season.  I wanted to create a fun scrapbook page to get ready for some snow pictures.

I used the large spotted tree background to stamp in coastal cabana to represent cool colors or snow.  I then stamped a few small speckles in whisper white ink and heat embossed with white powder to add some fluttering snowflakes.  Of course I had to use the new DSP paper pack and accessory pack of buttons and ribbon to accessorize the page.  These two items are items from the new
Sale-a-Bration catalog.  You know, those lovely items that you can earn for FREE when you place an order of $50.

Up close of the left hand side page.  I added three 4x6 photo mats on this side....

and two on the right side.  I love creating two page layouts!
