A Flowered Picnic with FM155

Well its hump day and you know what that means?!  Only two more days til the weekend and boy am I ready for it.  Not that its been a long week, but I have good news and bad news.  I know, the bad news first.  I have been having some issues with my steering with my Traverse.  Yep, you guessed it.  My power steering pump is gone, dead, not working, adios!!  And as you may know it, its not the parts that's gonna cost me my arm and leg, toes, fingers, hair, etc...  yep, its the labor.  That good old expensive mechanic labor we all love to pay out the wazoo for!  YUCK!  Double YUCK!  So what's the good news? Well the good news, is that I have been feeling very upset, angry and just disappointed after getting this news this morning, that I wanted to make a card in hopes that it would cheer me up (a little) not $800 happier but a littler happier!!

I decided to play along with the fun challenge over at The Friday Mashup.  What a fun challenge in deed.  A lot of different colors with a combo of creating a shaped card.  So I went to town and here is what I came up with.  Even though it poured down rain all day here yesterday, the sun is out today and shining bright.  So it made me think of the pretty green grass and flowers we will be getting after all this rain.

I created a picnic basket from soft suede, embossed it with my lattice folder, added a piece of DSP to represent a basket cloth liner and added some pretty flowers down the side.  Now this cheers me up and makes me happy!!

I made the basket so that it still opens up so you can write your greeting inside and also so that the handles swivel and fold down just like a real basket.

I used the spiral flower die to create my flowers in pool party, wisteria wonder and calypso coral.  To get my wild wasabi color in, I used the leaf framelit from the secret garden set.  I also added a lacey ribbon mixed with daffodil delight seam binding ribbon for the bow.

I sure do hope you have enjoyed my shaped basket card for my take on the challenge over at The Friday Mashup, and anyone wanting to contribute to my power steering pump fund is more than welcome too!!!  JUST PICKING!!

Oh Cynthia, so sorry to hear of your car troubles! I remember back in the day when my dad who was not even a mechanic could fix up or find someone to fix the car without it costing an arm and a leg. Those days are gone... I am happy to see card therapy helped you- this is a super fantastic card! I LOVE IT! Your creativity shines through every detail! Made me smile from ear to ear! Thanks for sharing with the Friday Mashup this week;)

Wow Wow Wow Wow Wow!!!! Your card is absolutely stunning. It certainly brightened my day and put a smile on my face! Your attention to detail on your card is amazing. I love how you made the handles moveable, such a great idea! The DSP you chose for the basket liner is perfect! You nailed both challenges!

Thank you for playing along with us at The Friday Mashup!

P.S. I'm sorry to hear about your vehicle! I hope your card cheered you up as much as it cheered me up!
